La leyenda del fútbol alemán Franz Beckenbauer ha muerto a los 78 años. Su extraordinaria carrera duró más de 50 años.
Beckenbauer fue un jugador increíble, un entrenador, un experto en fútbol y tuvo un gran impacto en este deporte. Su imponente presencia en el campo, tanto con la República Federal Alemana como con el Bayern de Múnich, le granjeó elogios. Desempeñó un papel clave en los años de esplendor del Bayern de Múnich, a mediados de la década de 1970. Durante esta época, el club logró tres Copas de Europa y títulos de la Bundesliga. Como entrenador, Beckenbauer ganó la Eurocopa de 1972. En 1974, fue el capitán cuando su equipo ganó la Copa del Mundo.
Políticos, aficionados, colegas y clubes de fútbol reaccionaron ante la muerte de Beckenbauer. Sigue siendo un símbolo de la excelencia del fútbol alemán.
