Un avión especial de Virgin Atlantic vuela de Londres a Nueva York. ¿Por qué es especial? Porque utiliza un tipo diferente de combustible. Este combustible se llama combustible de aviación sostenible (SAF). No utiliza petróleo.
Este combustible es mejor para la naturaleza. El avión sólo transporta a unas pocas personas. Una de ellas es Richard Branson, el jefe de Virgin Atlantic. El vuelo muestra cómo los aviones pueden utilizar un combustible que produce menos emisiones. Pero este combustible especial es más caro. Además, no es fácil producir una gran cantidad.
La mayoría de los aviones siguen utilizando el combustible habitual. Richard Branson cree que pasará algún tiempo antes de que muchos aviones puedan utilizar este combustible especial. Los aviones ensucian el aire. Las personas que fabrican aviones quieren encontrar mejores formas de fabricarlos y utilizarlos.
