En una entrevista radiofónica, el ministro israelí de Patrimonio, Amihai Eliyahu, habló de la posibilidad de utilizar una bomba nuclear contra Gaza.
El primer ministro israelí, Benjamin Netanyahu, reaccionó rápidamente y dijo que el gobierno no estaba de acuerdo con ello. Israel respeta las leyes internacionales y no quiere hacer daño a personas inocentes. Eliyahu explicó más tarde que no quería decir lo que había dicho.
Al mismo tiempo, hay informes de intensos bombardeos sobre Gaza que casi no cesan. Las Fuerzas de Defensa Israelíes separaron Gaza en dos partes y se preparan para entrar en la ciudad de Gaza. Mientras tanto, Hamás afirma que en Gaza han muerto más de 10.000 personas, y los grupos de ayuda afirman que la situación empeora cada día.
El ejército jordano lanzó suministros médicos al norte de Gaza. Varios países pidieron a Israel que detuviera los combates para que pudiera llegar la ayuda, pero Israel no accedió a una pausa humanitaria en los combates.
