El máximo tribunal de Brasil tomó una importante decisión sobre los derechos de los indígenas a la tierra.
El tribunal votó en contra de un plan apoyado por las grandes empresas agrícolas que intentaba limitar estos derechos. Esta decisión significa que los indígenas pueden seguir reclamando tierras en las que no vivían en 1988. La gente de Brasil ha celebrado esta noticia, especialmente en la región amazónica, donde viven muchos indígenas. Están contentos porque esta decisión protege su historia y sus derechos.
Sólo dos de los 11 jueces no apoyaban los derechos indígenas y querían limitar las reclamaciones de tierras indígenas. El ex presidente Jair Bolsonaro nombró a estos jueces en el pasado.
Antes de esta decisión, los activistas temían que el tribunal negara los derechos, lo que perjudicaría a los indígenas.
