El presidente de EEUU, Joe Biden, llega a Belfast el martes por la tarde para visitar la isla de Irlanda.
Está aquí para recordar un gran acuerdo alcanzado hace 25 años. El acuerdo ayuda a poner fin a los enfrentamientos en Irlanda del Norte. Biden es católico irlandés. Visita las antiguas casas de su familia en Louth y Mayo durante cuatro días.
Muchos presidentes estadounidenses tienen familias irlandesas. El presidente irlandés-americano más famoso es John F. Kennedy. Es el primer presidente católico de EEUU. Visita Irlanda en 1963. Eamon de Valera es el presidente de Irlanda en ese momento. Es un símbolo del irlandés católico y de la libertad. Barack Obama visita Irlanda en mayo de 2011. Va a Offaly, de donde procede su tatarabuelo, antes de ir a Estados Unidos. Dos años después, Obama visita Belfast. A la gente de allí le cae muy bien.
