X, que antes era Twitter, dijo que permitiría anuncios políticos en EE.UU. de candidatos y grupos políticos. Esto se produce antes de las elecciones presidenciales de 2024.
La empresa puso fin a todos los anuncios políticos a nivel mundial en 2019. En enero, Twitter empezó a permitir algunos tipos de anuncios en EEUU. Estos anuncios se centraban en temas como el registro de votantes. La última decisión podría ayudar a X a aumentar sus ingresos, sobre todo ahora que algunos anunciantes evitan la plataforma. X tiene previsto contratar a más gente y crear un centro de publicidad. Pero seguirá sin permitir anuncios que difundan información falsa o dañen la confianza pública en las elecciones.
La gente critica a X y a otras empresas de medios sociales por no hacer lo suficiente para detener la información falsa durante las elecciones importantes.
