Desde 1944, el dólar estadounidense es la principal moneda de reserva mundial. Esto significa que la mayoría de los países mantienen sus reservas de divisas en dólares.

Como resultado, todos los países quieren dólares. El valor del dólar es alto. Las importaciones son más baratas. Para EEUU, significa que el país importa más de lo que exporta. Pero la situación está cambiando. En 2001, el 73% de las reservas mundiales estaban en dólares estadounidenses. Hoy en día, son sólo el 58%. Este descenso se acelera cuando Rusia ataca a Ucrania. EEUU congela los activos rusos en dólares.

Los expertos creen que ninguna moneda sustituirá pronto al dólar. Pero el yuan chino y el yen japonés se están fortaleciendo. Los expertos afirman que es importante vigilar de cerca la situación.
