La semana pasada, Gran Bretaña recordó los 75 años de la llegada del primer barco procedente del Caribe a los muelles de Tilbury, en Essex.
El barco se llama HMT Empire Windrush. El 22 de junio de 1948, muchas personas llegan en el barco para ayudar a Gran Bretaña tras la Segunda Guerra Mundial. Más tarde llegan más personas del Caribe. Contribuyen mucho a la cultura británica. Hay celebraciones en Windsor, en la catedral de Southwark y en la estación londinense de Waterloo. La gente baila, canta y celebra. El rey Carlos dice que la generación Windrush marca una gran diferencia en Gran Bretaña.
Pero algunas personas estaban enfadadas y dolidas. Este año también se cumplen cinco años del escándalo Windrush. Muchas personas que tienen derecho a vivir en el Reino Unido, deben regresar a sus países.
