En Gran Bretaña llueve mucho y no hay nada más molesto que que el tiempo te pille desprevenido. Por suerte, científicos del Imperial College de Londres están desarrollando un nuevo tipo de material de revestimiento.
El agua rebota en la superficie gracias a las nanopartículas hidrófugas de dióxido de titanio, la misma sustancia química que se utiliza en la pintura de las casas. Ahora, por primera vez, se ha rociado el revestimiento sobre unas botas y una chaqueta.
El Dr. Colin Crick, de la universidad, dijo que el mayor reto es hacer que los recubrimientos sean más resistentes, pero una vez que se consiga, se podrán empezar a utilizar en edificios y ventanas.
