Esto forma parte del trato de aceptar fondos del gobierno; sin embargo, a algunos expertos les preocupa que pueda causar cierto recelo a los posibles receptores de subvenciones. Desde que se aprobó la legislación en agosto, la industria tecnológica se ha visto afectada, y es lo que impulsa la demanda de chips.
La Ley CHIPS es vital para mantener a EEUU por delante de China en los mercados mundiales y reducir la dependencia de los chips fabricados en Taiwán. Las empresas de semiconductores ya han anunciado más de 40 nuevos proyectos que incluyen casi 200.000 millones de dólares en inversiones privadas para aumentar la producción nacional.
