La UE investiga a Meta – nivel 2

Los líderes de la Unión Europea están intensificando su investigación sobre Meta, la gran empresa propietaria de Facebook e Instagram.

Altos cargos afirman que Meta diseña sus aplicaciones para que resulten adictivas para los niños. El Gobierno sostiene que la empresa ha infringido la normativa tecnológica al no impedir que los menores de 13 años utilicen estas redes sociales. El mes que viene, un grupo especial de expertos dará su opinión, y la UE podría establecer nuevas normas para proteger a los jóvenes.

Meta también tiene graves problemas legales en Estados Unidos. Muchas familias están demandando a la empresa porque sus hijos han sufrido daños a causa de las redes sociales. Meta está intentando influir en los políticos estadounidenses para no tener que pagar por estos problemas.
