El samán es una danza popular en Indonesia y la UNESCO la reconoció en 2011. También se le llama la danza de las mil manos.
Más de 10.000 hombres de Aceh, territorio de Sumatra, interpretaron la danza. Batieron el récord nacional de la mayor danza Saman. Los habitantes de Aceh la interpretan tradicionalmente una vez al año para mostrar su unidad tras la cosecha.
El Director General de Cultura dijo que el acontecimiento demuestra que la gente sigue manteniendo su cultura.
