El líder de Samsung, Jay Y. Lee, insistió en que no hizo nada malo durante una fusión en 2015. Fue un acuerdo comercial por valor de 8.000 millones de dólares.
Pero los fiscales quieren una pena de cinco años de cárcel para él. Afirman que infringió las normas y abusó de su posición como jefe de la empresa. Lee argumentó que se trataba de una gestión normal y que todo era transparente.
La defensa alegó que los jueces ignoraron algunos hechos del caso, como las opiniones de 106 accionistas minoritarios. El juicio empezó hace tres años y terminará el 26 de enero.
