Las ratas buscan a las personas – nivel 2

Los entrenadores de la empresa belga APOPO están adiestrando ratas para buscar personas en zonas catastróficas.
Las ratas son muy curiosas y les gusta explorar, así que se las entrena como a los perros. Son muy pequeñas, por lo que pueden moverse fácilmente entre los escombros. Además, tienen muy buen olfato para encontrar cosas.
Los animales llevan una pequeña mochila con tecnología especial. Una cámara de vídeo y un dispositivo ayudan a los rescatadores a comunicarse con los supervivientes.
Actualmente se entrena a las ratas en una zona de catástrofe simulada. Cuando la rata encuentra a una persona en una habitación vacía, acciona un interruptor de su chaleco. Esto envía una señal a los rescatadores de que hay alguien entre los escombros. Entonces, la rata vuelve con los rescatadores y éstos recompensan al animal.
