El sábado, el presidente ruso, Vladímir Putin, dijo que colocaría armas nucleares en Bielorrusia, vecina de Ucrania.
Putin dijo que emplazar armas en Bielorrusia era lo mismo que EEUU emplazar armas nucleares en Europa. Al mismo tiempo, dijo que Rusia no aumentaría el número de armas nucleares.
El portavoz de la OTAN afirmó que las palabras de Putin eran peligrosas e irresponsables y que incumplía repetidamente sus promesas.
Los funcionarios ucranianos solicitaron una reunión del Consejo de Seguridad de la ONU y pidieron a la comunidad internacional que tomara medidas para impedir que Rusia utilizara armas nucleares.
