La ONU advierte que los lanzamientos aéreos no detienen la hambruna de las 500.000 personas necesitadas. Además, cuando los aviones dejan caer paquetes con ayuda, pueden herir o incluso matar a las personas que están en tierra. Los lanzamientos aéreos son caros y, comparados con otros medios, no son fáciles de realizar. Para que los lanzamientos aéreos tengan éxito, debe haber zonas de lanzamiento seguras. Además, las personas en tierra deben organizar la ayuda, lo que es muy difícil.
Mucha gente critica esta forma de ayuda, pero los gobiernos continúan con los lanzamientos aéreos para mostrar su apoyo a Gaza. Pero los lanzamientos aéreos no resolverán el problema.
