Los Juegos Olímpicos de París comenzaron con una gran celebración de la cultura francesa.
Mucha gente acudió a ver la ceremonia de inauguración. Más de 300.000 personas vieron los barcos de 205 países en el río Sena. Lady Gaga y Céline Dion actuaron en lugares famosos de París. Lady Gaga cantó ‘Mon Truc En Plumes‘ al estilo del Moulin Rouge, y Céline Dion cantó ‘l’Hymne à l’Amour‘ desde la Torre Eiffel. Aunque llovió mucho y hubo algunos problemas al principio, el acto fue un éxito.
La ceremonia mostró monumentos parisinos y el lema francés: Libertad, Igualdad y Fraternidad. Fue un gran acontecimiento, tal como habían prometido los organizadores.
