En Nigeria, los precios suben mucho en agosto. Cada año, el país examina cuánto cuestan las cosas. Esto se llama inflación. Y esta vez, es realmente alta, del 25,8%. Es la cifra más alta de los últimos 18 años.
El presidente Bola Tinubu hace algunas cosas en mayo que hacen subir los precios. Deja de dar dinero extra a la gente y a las empresas para la gasolina. Cambia el funcionamiento del dinero entre países. Esto significa que ahora la comida y el transporte cuestan más. Y la gente está muy disgustada. Es el octavo mes consecutivo en que suben los precios. Es la cifra más alta desde 2005.
Los expertos dicen que esto ocurre porque el dinero en Nigeria es más caro. Algunas cosas, como el combustible y los alimentos, cuestan más. El banco central decidirá qué hacer con el dinero el 26 de septiembre.
