El Explorador de las Lunas Heladas de Júpiter sale al espacio desde la Guayana Francesa. Explorará las lunas de Júpiter.
La Agencia Espacial Europea quiere conocer Europa, Calisto y Ganímedes. Es posible que haya habido vida en estas lunas en el pasado. Están lejos del Sol y son heladas. Pero tienen mucha agua debajo. Los científicos quieren averiguar si hay respiraderos hidrotermales. Un respiradero hidrotermal significa que sale agua caliente del fondo marino. Podría haber vida en la oscuridad.
La misión también descubrirá la Mancha Roja de Júpiter, las luces polares y el campo magnético.
