Esto se debió principalmente a que Microsoft invirtió en inteligencia artificial (IA), y como resultado, las acciones de Microsoft aumentaron un 5%. Por otra parte, la empresa matriz de Google, Alphabet, experimentó una caída del 7% en sus acciones. El éxito de Microsoft se debió en parte a la fuerte promoción de tecnologías de IA como Copilots y GenAI. Además, la empresa invirtió en la startup de IA OpenAI, lo que dio sus frutos.
La tecnología de IA pasó a formar parte de varios productos de Microsoft, como Bing, Microsoft 365 y Github. Microsoft se basó en las relaciones existentes con clientes más grandes, lo que fue una buena estrategia empresarial.
