Carlos es el hijo de la reina Isabel. Ella murió el pasado septiembre. Carlos tiene 74 años. Se convierte en rey del Reino Unido y de otros 14 países. Estos países son, por ejemplo, Canadá y Australia.
El 6 de mayo se celebra una gran ceremonia en Londres. Camilla, la segunda esposa de Carlos, se convierte en reina. Saludan a la gente desde el balcón del Palacio de Buckingham. Millones de personas ven la ceremonia por televisión.
La familia real quiere demostrar que es moderna. Algunas personas piensan que el rey y la reina son importantes para reunirse con otros líderes de distintos países. Otros piensan que no son importantes y que cuestan demasiado dinero.
