Miles de agricultores y trabajadores de diversos sectores, como la pesca, la gastronomía y la logística, protestaron en Berlín contra los recortes en las subvenciones al combustible. Esto provocó el caos en el centro de la ciudad.
Alrededor de 30.000 manifestantes llenaron las calles del barrio gubernamental con vehículos y cambios en la política del gobierno. Algunos advirtieron de que los agricultores podrían ir a la quiebra. El ministro de Finanzas, Christian Lindner, responsable del recorte de las subvenciones, se enfrentó a fuertes protestas durante su discurso.
Las protestas llamaron la atención sobre otras cuestiones, como los elevados costes de la energía y la burocracia. Algunos manifestantes incluso exigieron nuevas elecciones.
