El primer ministro indio, Narendra Modi, visitó EAU para estrechar lazos y mostrar la influencia de India. Este viaje se produjo justo antes de las elecciones en India.
Aunque en el pasado hubo problemas entre EAU e India, Modi inauguró el primer templo hindú de Abu Dhabi. En los EAU viven más de 3 millones de indios, y Modi se centra ahora en ellos.
La visita también dio lugar a acuerdos sobre comercio e inversiones. Los dos países colaboran más que nunca.
Modi quiere impulsar su imagen de líder global, y necesita que los hindúes le apoyen en las elecciones.
