Los hombres participan en un ritual. Visten telas negras o rojas. Caminan por las calles y se golpean a sí mismos. Utilizan cadenas y látigos. Se tumban en el suelo. Otros les golpean con palos de madera. Los hombres creen que Dios les perdonará sus pecados.
Algunas personas dicen que este ritual es demasiado antiguo y doloroso. Pero para muchos católicos filipinos, forma parte de lo que son.
