En Siria quedan muchas minas terrestres y bombas de años de guerra. Siguen siendo muy peligrosas.
HALO Trust trabaja para limpiar estos lugares y que la gente pueda volver a casa sana y salva. En Sarak, ciudad del norte, los trabajadores retiran las bombas del terreno, pero el trabajo es lento y peligroso. Muchas personas regresan a sus hogares antes de que el terreno sea seguro. Algunas personas pagan a trabajadores que no están suficientemente formados. Estos trabajadores a veces resultan heridos o mueren.
La Fundación HALO quiere conseguir más herramientas y personas que ayuden a limpiar más rápidamente. También enseñan a la gente cómo mantenerse a salvo. Algunos trabajadores han perdido brazos o piernas, pero siguen queriendo ayudar. Muchas personas y animales resultan heridos porque las bombas siguen allí.
