La ciudad portuaria de Hambantota, en Sri Lanka, es conocida por los cientos de elefantes salvajes que deambulan libremente por sus alrededores.
Una cría se encontró en una situación difícil tras quedar atrapada en una alcantarilla. Por suerte, los trabajadores portuarios locales y los funcionarios encargados de la vida salvaje consiguieron sacarla. Más tarde, los médicos trataron a la cría de elefante de lo que creían que era una pata rota.
