Foxconn, proveedor de los iPhones de Apple, está siendo objeto de una investigación fiscal en China.

Algunas personas sospechan que la noticia, procedente de los medios de comunicación estatales chinos, podría estar relacionada con la política. Es posible que China quiera influir en las elecciones de Taiwán.

Varias empresas se han enfrentado a auditorías de las autoridades chinas en los últimos meses, pero sólo la investigación de Foxconn es pública. Estas auditorías se producen a menos de tres meses de las elecciones presidenciales de Taiwán y justo en el momento en que Foxconn quiere aumentar su producción fuera de China.

Taiwán, territorio que China reclama como propio, acusa a menudo a China de intentar influir en Taiwán, tanto por medios militares como económicos.
