La piel albina se da a veces en animales y en humanos. Se ve en mamíferos, aves y reptiles. Ocurre porque su piel no tiene color. Rara vez ocurre en mamíferos marinos.
En 2008, expertos marinos de México ven una joven ballena albina. Forma parte de un grupo de ballenas grises. Recientemente, expertos marinos ven la misma ballena albina. Ahora tiene un bebé con ella. El bebé tiene un color normal.
