Cada dos minutos muere una mujer embarazada debido a complicaciones, sobre todo en lugares como Kenia.
Muchas personas del África subsahariana viven lejos de los hospitales. No reciben una buena atención y es difícil llegar a los hospitales. Pero las nuevas tecnologías, como los aparatos portátiles de ecografía, pueden ayudar. Grupos como Jakaranda Health y Google crean dispositivos que pueden utilizar personas no expertas. Los dispositivos utilizan IA para analizar las ecografías y detectar problemas a tiempo, lo que puede salvar vidas.
Los expertos siguen probando estos dispositivos, que podrían mejorar enormemente la atención sanitaria materna en Kenia, donde actualmente sólo unas pocas madres tienen acceso a ecografías.
