El experto espeleólogo Mark Dickey se metió en un lío en la cueva de Morca, Turquía, tras caer gravemente enfermo durante una misión. Empezó a vomitar sangre y pensó que no saldría con vida.
La cueva tiene 1.276 metros de profundidad y hay muchos pozos y caminos estrechos. Las bajas temperaturas también complicaron el rescate. En el esfuerzo de rescate participaron más de 200 personas de varios países, que, al final, salvaron a Mark al cabo de 12 días.
Mark dio las gracias al gobierno turco por su rápida reacción, que en su opinión le salvó la vida. Sus padres también dieron las gracias a los equipos de rescate y al gobierno turco.
