En abril, el australiano Tim Shaddock y su perra Bella partieron de La Paz (México). El hombre, de 51 años, quería viajar a la Polinesia Francesa en su barco, pero se metió en un lío.
En mayo, unas tormentas dañaron la electrónica de la embarcación, y Shaddock y su perra se quedaron varados en medio del océano Pacífico. La pareja sobrevivió sólo gracias a beber agua de lluvia y comer pescado crudo.
Finalmente, un helicóptero localizó la embarcación y la pareja está ahora de camino de vuelta a México. Tanto el hombre como su perro parecían estar bien, pero Shaddock se someterá a un chequeo médico cuando esté en México.
