Multa a una librería – nivel 3

El gobierno húngaro ha multado a la segunda librería del país, Lira, con casi 36.000 dólares por violar una ley que prohíbe mostrar la homosexualidad a los menores.
La acusación es por no envolver una novela gráfica LGBTQ, Heartstopper, en papel de plástico. La controvertida ley de 2021 exige que todos los libros de temática LGBTQ se envuelvan y se vendan por separado, a una distancia mínima de 200 metros de escuelas o iglesias. La ley forma parte de la agenda conservadora cristiana del primer ministro Viktor Orban y ha sido criticada por la UE.
El director creativo de Lira, Krisztian Nyary, afirma que la ley es vaga y difícil de aplicar. Esta multa es la más alta de la historia del comercio húngaro de libros. A pesar de utilizar medios legales, la multa no puede recurrirse.
