Kenia ha hecho un gran trabajo en la lucha contra el VIH, pero ahora hay un gran problema. Se están acabando los condones gratuitos. Antes, Estados Unidos y otros países ricos enviaban millones de condones gratuitos a Kenia.

Ahora, el gobierno de EE. UU. ha recortado los fondos para esta ayuda y se han agotado las existencias. Las personas con muy pocos recursos, como los pobres y los trabajadores sexuales, no pueden comprar condones porque son demasiado caros. Los trabajadores locales ven que cada vez más chicas jóvenes se quedan embarazadas y que más gente se está contagiando de infecciones peligrosas.

Los activistas intentan educar a la gente, pero es difícil sin condones gratis que repartir. Algunos expertos dicen que los altos impuestos del gobierno sobre la importación de condones empeoran aún más la situación. Si nada cambia, el virus se propagará rápidamente de nuevo.
