Hoy en día la gente tiene menos hijos. En muchos países hay más personas mayores que jóvenes. Esto supone un gran cambio para el mundo.

Esto está pasando en muchas partes del mundo, no solo en Europa. Hay muchas razones para ello. Mucha gente no tiene suficiente dinero para una casa grande o para todo lo que necesita un bebé. Además, la gente está formando familias más tarde. Antes, las mujeres tenían hijos a los veinte años. Ahora, muchas mujeres esperan hasta los treinta. Algunas personas deciden no tener hijos. Quieren hacer otras cosas en la vida.

El mundo cambiará con menos niños. Pero una población más pequeña puede ser buena para el planeta. Menos gente necesita menos comida y agua. El mundo no es el mismo que hace 50 años. Debemos pensar en cómo vivir en este nuevo mundo.
