La mayoría de los glaciares de Austria se están reduciendo. Según un informe, 94 de los 96 glaciares han retrocedido en los últimos dos años. El glaciar Pasterze también se está desintegrando.
Los científicos dicen que esto ocurre debido al clima más cálido y a la menor cantidad de nieve. El año pasado, el mes de junio fue mucho más caluroso de lo habitual.
Se están produciendo cambios similares en Suiza y otros países. Los expertos afirman que el deshielo de los glaciares puede acarrear problemas para el agua, la energía y el turismo en las montañas. Es hora de pensar en cómo detener el cambio climático.
