En Rusia, algunas personas prefieren ahora el té en lugar del café porque consideran que el café es una bebida occidental.
Un empresario, Andrei Kolbasinov, abrió una cadena de casas de té llamada Nitka. Quiere que los rusos vuelvan a disfrutar del té como lo hacían antes de la Revolución de 1917. Sus casas de té tienen un aspecto anticuado y ofrecen un lugar tranquilo para que la gente se reúna.
El cambio también muestra cómo los rusos se centran más en su propia cultura y menos en las ideas occidentales tras los problemas con Occidente. Muchos rusos siguen bebiendo té en casa con mermelada o limón. Parte del té procede de China y Georgia porque las sanciones dificultan el comercio con otros países.
