Ghana suspendió todos los combates de boxeo tras la muerte de dos boxeadores este año. El gobierno dijo que no habrá combates durante al menos tres meses mientras un nuevo equipo elabora normas para mantener la seguridad de los boxeadores.
El primero que murió era un boxeador nigeriano, y el segundo era un boxeador ghanés que murió tras su combate en Accra. Los dirigentes afirmaron que la pausa es importante para proteger a las personas y hacer que el deporte sea más seguro. También quieren hacer nuevos planes a largo plazo para mejorar el entrenamiento y el control.
El boxeo es muy popular en Ghana y dio al país famosos campeones, pero ahora mucha gente quiere asegurarse de que es seguro para todos.
