En toda Asia crecen las protestas, derriban gobiernos en Sri Lanka y Bangladesh, y la gente llena las calles en Nepal e Indonesia.
Los jóvenes suelen utilizar las redes sociales para planificar y compartir ideas. Plataformas como TikTok y Discord les ayudaron a conectarse rápidamente, pero también difundieron historias falsas. En Nepal, unos vídeos mostraban a hijos de políticos disfrutando del lujo mientras muchos jóvenes no encontraban trabajo. Creció la ira y la desinformación difundió rumores sobre ataques a templos. Un mapa de las viviendas de los políticos llevó a algunas personas a quemar casas, lo que causó heridos.
Los expertos afirman que las redes sociales pueden ser poderosas, pero también peligrosas. Con las nuevas elecciones que se avecinan, les preocupa que la información falsa se haga aún más fuerte.
