Jeff Bezos y Lauren Sánchez celebran una boda de alto nivel en Venecia, Italia.

Inicialmente prevista en el ajetreado barrio nocturno de Cannaregio, el lugar de la fiesta se trasladó a la histórica zona del Arsenal por motivos de seguridad y temor a protestas. El Arsenal, un complejo del siglo XIV rodeado de agua, se vuelve inaccesible por tierra cuando se levantan sus puentes. Se espera que asistan entre 200 y 250 invitados VIP, entre ellos Ivanka Trump y Jared Kushner. Las celebraciones durarán tres días y se calcula que costarán entre 46 y 55 millones de dólares. Los primeros jets privados empezaron a llegar el martes, y cinco hoteles de lujo de Venecia están al completo. Los organizadores también han dispuesto al menos 30 taxis acuáticos para transportar a los invitados.

Activistas locales, entre ellos el grupo No Hay Espacio para Bezos, criticaron el acontecimiento, afirmando que convierte a Venecia en un patio de recreo para los ricos. Sin embargo, calificaron de gran victoria el traslado al Arsenal aislado. La fecha y el lugar exactos de la ceremonia nupcial siguen siendo confidenciales.
