En España, algunas personas están pagando 55.000 euros por clonar a sus mascotas.
Christian Morales, de Barcelona, perdió a su perra Lola. Cuando murió, guardó su ADN para poder recuperarla en el futuro. Ahora no está seguro de clonarla porque es demasiado caro. Un laboratorio español está clonando perros y gatos. La mascota clonada parece y se comporta como la original, pero los expertos dicen que no tendrá los mismos recuerdos ni sentimientos. Los psicólogos creen que la clonación no evita la tristeza tras la pérdida de una mascota.
Aunque a algunas personas les preocupa la clonación, muchos propietarios siguen deseándola. Christian paga 500 euros al año por conservar el ADN de Lola y espera poder volver a verla algún día.
