La UE dice que los alimentos de origen vegetal pueden usar nombres como ‘hamburguesa vegetariana‘ y ‘filete vegano‘. Esto ayuda a la gente a saber lo que está comprando.
A algunos les parece bien. A otros les preocupa que los distintos países tengan normas diferentes. Un estudiante de Portugal piensa que los alimentos vegetales deben tener nombres diferentes. No son carne. Otro estudiante considera que los nombres son útiles para cocinar.
En Francia, los alimentos vegetales no pueden usar nombres como ‘filete‘ o ‘jamón‘. Esto dificulta las cosas a las empresas. Alrededor del 70% de la gente dice que utilizar nombres de carne está bien. Pero el alimento debe llevar una etiqueta como vegetariano o vegano.
