Volkswagen, el mayor empleador de Alemania, está pensando en suprimir muchos puestos de trabajo. Esto se debe a que las ventas de coches en Alemania, incluidos los de Mercedes-Benz y BMW, están cayendo.
Aunque Volkswagen desmintió las informaciones sobre el despido de 30.000 trabajadores en Alemania, sigue afirmando que necesita reducir sus costes. El ministro de Economía alemán, Robert Habeck, ofreció ayuda, pero Volkswagen tiene que decidir cómo resolver sus problemas.
La razón principal de esta situación es la caída de las ventas en China, que solía ser un mercado muy grande para las empresas automovilísticas alemanas. Ahora, el mercado automovilístico chino no es tan fuerte, y hay más fabricantes de coches chinos.
