En la década de 1870, un médico vive en una pequeña casa en Kansas, EEUU. También trabaja en su casa. Una noche, una mujer acude a él. Tiene a su hija enferma. La niña muere durante una operación. Desde entonces, ocurren cosas extrañas en la casa.
La niña se llama Sally. Algunas personas creen que el espíritu de Sally sigue en la casa.
En 1993, una joven pareja se muda a la casa. Ocurren cosas muy malas. Hay cosas que se mueven por la casa. Por la noche, la gente oye a alguien caminando por la casa. Tienen miedo. Llaman a un investigador.
El hombre tiene un aparato especial. Dice que puede hablar con Sally. Dice que ocurren cosas paranormales. Paranormal significa que nadie puede explicar algo. Nadie entiende cómo y por qué ocurren.
