El agua embotellada es la bebida más popular en EEUU, pero conlleva muchos problemas. Algunas ciudades sólo tienen agua embotellada, ya que las tuberías del agua del grifo son demasiado viejas. El agua embotellada es mucho más cara que el agua del grifo. Al mismo tiempo, el agua del grifo es más segura, y el agua embotellada tiene un impacto muy negativo en el mundo natural.
Una fábrica suele necesitar tres litros de agua para hacer un litro de agua embotellada. Además, para fabricar botellas es necesario quemar petróleo. Para fabricar agua embotellada se necesita 2.000 veces más energía que para fabricar agua del grifo.
