El Monte Everest es la montaña más alta del mundo. Está lleno de basura.
Desde 1953, muchos escaladores dejan basura allí. Un sherpa que dirige un equipo de limpieza dice que limpiar la basura llevará años. El gobierno de Nepal paga a un equipo para que limpie la basura. Este año, el equipo se lleva 11 toneladas de basura, cuatro cadáveres y un esqueleto. Puede haber entre 40 y 50 toneladas de basura en el último campamento antes de la cumbre. La basura son tiendas viejas, paquetes de comida, bombonas de gas y cuerdas. La basura está congelada a 8.000 metros. La limpieza es dura. Hay mal tiempo y poco aire. Nuevas normas y más información reducen la basura nueva. Pero la mayor parte es vieja. Lo más antiguo hasta ahora es una batería de 1957.
