La isla de Skye, en Europa, está sintiendo el impacto negativo del Brexit.

Tres generaciones de la familia McKinnon trabajaban en la pesca, y apoyaron el Brexit por las cuotas de captura. Pero ahora están decepcionados porque no obtuvieron muchos beneficios. Venden cigalas, cangrejos y langostas sobre todo a Europa, pero los precios están bajando y hay más papeleo. La industria escocesa del salmón es importante para el empleo en Skye. Pierde hasta 100 millones de libras al año a causa del Brexit. La isla también perdió los beneficios de la Unión Europea y ahora depende de ayudas menos útiles de Westminster.

El gobierno británico prometió nuevos mercados, pero los habitantes de Skye no vieron ningún beneficio. Encontrar trabajadores es difícil, y eso afecta al turismo y a la construcción. La población local dice que el Brexit ha hecho las cosas más caras y difíciles. Algunos esperan que Escocia se independice y se una a la UE.
