Nuevas normas fronterizas de la UE – nivel 1

Las empresas de viajes de Europa se están preparando para un nuevo sistema de fronteras de la UE. El sistema empezará a funcionar en otoño de este año.

Este nuevo sistema será para las personas no pertenecientes a la UE, como los ciudadanos del Reino Unido. Deberán dar sus huellas dactilares y una foto antes de venir a la UE. Las personas pueden llegar tarde a puntos fronterizos del Reino Unido como Dover, la estación de Eurostar de Londres y el Eurotúnel de Folkestone. Ahora mismo, el control de pasaportes dura entre 45 segundos y 1,5 minutos. El nuevo sistema tardará unos minutos más por persona.

Dover se está gastando 10 millones de libras para facilitar las cosas. Eurotunnel está gastando 70 millones de libras en nuevos carriles y máquinas. A las empresas les preocupan las largas esperas. La UE puede permitir menos controles durante los seis primeros meses.
