La ceniza volcánica de la erupción del Vesubio en el año 79 d.C. cubrió los pergaminos de Herculano. Ahora, gracias a la tecnología avanzada, científicos italianos han revelado por fin sus secretos.
Mediante inteligencia artificial e imágenes infrarrojas, los científicos descifraron detalles sobre el filósofo griego Platón. Platón murió a los 81 años, y los pergaminos nos hablan también de sus últimos días y de su entierro.
El profesor Graziano Ranocchiea, de la Universidad de Pisa, dirige el equipo. Este descubrimiento nos habla del lugar de enterramiento de Platón cerca de la Academia y promete ayudar a descifrar otros pergaminos no leídos.
