William Buckland fue un famoso científico británico. En la década de 1830, organizaba extrañas cenas. Servía comidas inusuales, como un ratón sobre una tostada.

Buckland tenía hábitos inusuales, pero estudió geología en la Universidad de Oxford y se convirtió en una persona respetada en la ciencia. Quería cambiar las viejas formas de pensar y las ideas de la Biblia, estudiando los fósiles. Buckland descubrió los huesos del Megalosaurus, que ayudaron a comprender mejor a los dinosaurios. Su esposa Mary también amaba la ciencia y apoyó su trabajo.

Buckland quería comerse todos los animales de la Tierra. No lo consiguió, pero demostró que la ciencia puede ser apasionante y divertida.
