Los médicos belgas tratan a más pacientes con problemas de nariz.
Estos pacientes suelen tener unos cuarenta años, son directivos, profesores o personas que trabajan en la banca. Y consumen cocaína. La cocaína estrecha los vasos sanguíneos de la nariz, lo que daña el tejido y hace agujeros. En algunos casos, los pacientes necesitan una reconstrucción de la nariz.
Pero muchos pacientes no pueden operarse porque no deben consumir cocaína al menos seis meses antes de la operación para que cicatrice bien. Así que, aunque hay más consumidores de cocaína, el número de cirugías no crece mucho.
